Air Health Technology

If you are interested in purchasing a home air purifying machine from Air Health, you might be wondering what makes ours so special and how the technology works. To help provide you with a bit more information on Air Health technology, what it does, and how it works, below is a general overview of it.

How Does UV Light Work with Air Purification?

Ultraviolet (UV) light purification is a method of air sanitization that has been proven time and time again to be effective in places like schools, hospitals, daycare centers, hotels, restaurants, and more. The germicidal effects produced b y UV light cause photochemical damage to RNA and DNA within microorganisms, for they do not reproduce. Ultraviolet radiation has been proven to be super effective in deactivating viruses, bacteria, and other harmful pathogens. Air Health whole-house and portable air purifiers both use high intensity ultraviolet (UVC) lamps to cut down on airborne germs and to purify indoor air.

Modern UVC Air Purification Technology from Air+Health

The Air Health Whole House Air Purifier is engineered to put out powerful rays of UVC band light in order to sterilize and cut down on over 99% of all airborne germs, bacteria, viruses, allergens, mold, microorganisms, and more as they attempt to make their way through your AC or heating system. The AH-1 is installed above or below your AC coil and continues to operate to automatically in order to clean the air in your home. Indoor air in a typical residential forced-air HVAC system will be recirculated 40-75 times a day

The AH-1 works all year round, even when your HVAC is not heating or cooling. Air Health uses the energy from a specially designed, high-intensity UV lamp to reduce contaminants throughout your entire home as they cycle through the HVAC system. The UV light’s effectiveness in killing things like bacteria is related directly to the microorganism’s amount of time that it is exposed to the UV light.

The Air Health Whole House Air Purifier not only works with your home’s existing duct work to purify air throughout the entire house, but it also cleans your AC coil. As a result, this enables your AC to work more efficiently, which in turn saves you money on energy costs.

Portable Air Filtration Technology from Air+Health

The Air Health Portable Room Allergy Air Purifier - AH-2 gives you the ability to bring clean, fresh air to any room you like, whether it's an office, nursing home room, hotel room, or just a room of your home! As long as you have a working outlet available, you can bring purified air to that room!

Air Health Portable Air Purifiers combine the power of UV with high efficiency and carbon filtration to neutralize airborne bacteria, viruses, fungi, and mold while trapping dust, pollen and reducing odors, and volatile organic compounds. The Air Health portable model is recommended when you want to protect a smaller space. Use the Air Health portable air purifier for rooms up to 500 square feet.

To understand the process of how an Air Health Portable Room Allergy Air Purifier - AH-2 works, below is an explanation of the filtration process involved:

  • Pre-filter:
    • A pre-filter captures large particulates in the air like hair, dust, and pet dander.
    • The pre-filter is the first line of defense in the air purifier, capturing large particles, and strengthening / extending the life of the HEPA and activated carbon filters by preventing debris getting into the next filter such as fur, pollen, dust and hair that would clog up the finer filtration, impacting/reducing their efficiently.
  • Activated Carbon Filter:
    • Activated carbon is used to filter out / capture volatile organic compounds, chemical vapors, or smoke, fumes, and other smells such as pet smells.
    • An activated charcoal filter removes finer particles like VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and smells. As a result, the Air + Health Skye is your air purifier for VOCs and your air purifier for smells.
  • HEPA:
    • True HEPA traps particles such as mold, bacteria, dust, dander, pollen, and viruses as small as 0.1 micron
    • HEPA is an acronym for "High Efficiency Particle Arrestor" which is a type of filter that can trap particles (below 0.3 micrometers (µm) in diameter) that other air filtration systems would re-circulate back into the air of your home. HEPA filters remove 99.97% of all airborne particles that can cause problems for allergy and asthma sufferers, reducing or eliminating them to make the air cleaner for those residing in your home. [Scott] – Ok, will you be providing this info?
    • A HEPA filter captures very fine particles like allergens and mold. This true HEPA filter makes the Air + Health Skye a medical grade air purifier. In other words, it’s your air purifier for allergensyour air purifier for mold, and even your air purifier for asthma
