Why Choose a Whole House Fan?

Running your air conditioner 24/7 can get pricey. Save on energy costs by harnessing the power of Free Cooling with an attic or whole house fan. It’s another name for thermal mass cooling, the process of replacing warm, humid indoor air with fresh, cool outdoor air. That’s what a whole house fan does when you switch it on in the evening after opening a few windows. By precooling the house overnight, you make it easier for your air conditioning unit to maintain coolness during the day. Rather than burning up the BTUs all night, whole house fans use up to 90% less energy than air conditioners. That’s some cool savings!

What is Free Cooling?

Free Cooling is another way of saying Thermal Mass Cooling when speaking about whole house fans. Free Cooling is the process of replacing the warm, stale inside the home with cool, fresh outside air. The process is simple. A whole house fan precools the house overnight to reduce AC usage throughout the day by drawing in the cool nighttime air from outdoors.

Save On AC Costs

Instead of using air conditioning, you can open a few windows and turn on your whole house fan in the evening. As the cooling fan runs throughout the night and early morning, built up heat inside the home is pulled and released into the attic. This cools the house and everything in it. In the morning, simply switch off the fan, close your windows, and enjoy the precooled air. This allows you to use air conditioning less and save on air conditioning costs.
